Guide
Find the same Amazon product on AliExpress with image search
If you are looking at an Amazon listing and want the same item on AliExpress, start with the product photo. SameSame runs AliExpress visual search from that image so you can compare matches, often cheaper, without typing a new query.
Why Amazon titles are a weak AliExpress query
A common way to hunt for a cheaper copy is to copy the Amazon title into AliExpress. That works when the wording is generic and short. It fails often. Amazon titles are built for Amazon search: brand names, pack counts, “set of” language, color names, and compatibility notes. AliExpress sellers title the same object differently. They may drop the brand, use a factory name, or describe the shape instead of the use.
ASINs and Amazon bullet lists are even less useful on AliExpress. Those identifiers live inside Amazon. Pasting them into another store usually returns nothing useful. The one part of the listing that both catalogs share is the picture. Factory photos, pack shots, and even lifestyle crops show up across marketplaces. That is why image search is the reliable first step.
Why AliExpress visual search is the main path
SameSame can send a product image to Amazon, Temu, or AliExpress. AliExpress image search is the destination people use most, and it is usually the strongest visual match of the three. AliExpress listings are dense with seller photos that look like the original product photography. If an Amazon item has a counterpart on AliExpress, the photo is often enough to surface it.
That does not mean every Amazon product exists on AliExpress. Branded electronics, grocery, and Amazon-exclusive bundles may have no real match. Image search still helps in those cases: you see similar shapes quickly, then you can stop instead of scrolling through keyword noise.
How to search AliExpress from an Amazon listing
Install SameSame in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Open the Amazon product page you already care about. You do not need to save the image or open a separate reverse-image site.
- Right-click the main product image and choose AliExpress as the search destination.
- Or use find-similar on the Amazon product page when SameSame shows that action.
- Review matches in the collapsible sidebar so you stay on the Amazon listing while you compare.
Prefer the clean pack shot over a collage, infographic, or photo of the item in a messy room. Visual search has an easier time when one object fills the frame. If Amazon shows several images, try the front view first, then a detail crop if the first pass is too broad.
SameSame uses each store’s own visual search. Results come from AliExpress, not from a third-party index. You are looking at what AliExpress would return for that photo, opened from the page you were already reading.
How to read the AliExpress matches
The top results are not automatically “the same product.” Treat them as a shortlist. Open a few cards and compare the photos, not only the titles. Look at seams, ports, labels, included accessories, and scale. A lamp that looks identical in a thumbnail may be a different size in the dimensions chart.
Check variants. Color, voltage, plug type, and “with / without” accessories change both price and whether the item is actually what you saw on Amazon. If the Amazon listing is a multi-pack, confirm the AliExpress count. A lower price for a single unit is not a saving.
Then look at the rest of the listing: shipping country, delivery window, seller rating, and return notes. The item is often cheaper on AliExpress. Shipping time and import fees can erase that gap, or they can still leave you ahead. SameSame helps you find candidates. You still choose the listing that matches the object and the delivery you can live with.
When a match is good enough, and when it is not
A good match is the same object: same silhouette, same controls, same accessories, same stated materials. A useful near-match is a product that does the same job with a small design change. A bad match shares a color or a lifestyle setting and nothing else. Image search will return all three. Your job is to sort them.
If several AliExpress sellers show the same factory photos, that is common. Compare those sellers on shipping and recent orders rather than on who used the nicest title. If no result looks right, try a different Amazon image, or search Temu with the same photo to see whether the catalog overlap is there at all.
Install SameSame and search from Amazon
SameSame is a free browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. It does not replace AliExpress. It opens AliExpress image search from the Amazon page in front of you, which is the part that is easy to miss on desktop.
FAQ
Can I find the exact same Amazon product on AliExpress?
Sometimes you will find the same item, or a very close match. Other times you will find similar products with different branding, pack size, or materials. Image search is the fastest way to see which of those is true for a specific listing.
Why use image search instead of the Amazon product title?
Amazon titles are written for Amazon search. They often include brand names, marketing phrases, and bundle details that do not match AliExpress titles. The product photo is usually a better query than the words on the listing.
Does SameSame search AliExpress from the Amazon page?
Yes. SameSame runs AliExpress visual search from the page you are already on. You can right-click a product image on Amazon, or use find-similar on Amazon product pages, and compare results in a sidebar.
Is AliExpress always cheaper than Amazon?
No. The same-looking item is often cheaper on AliExpress, but shipping, taxes, delivery time, and seller quality can change the real cost. Compare the full listing, not only the headline price.
